I was honored to be nominated, much less be voted best anything in 88 Nine’s 2011 Milwaukee Music Awards, and now I just found out that “Keep on Lovin” is nominated for a WAMI award. WOW! It’s the little ditty love song #2 on Profit; sometimes called “the California Song” or “the Sunshine Song” by curious who approached me because they heard it on Radio Milwaukee or WUWM or WMSE.
It is all quite humbling. I must defer any accolade to all those who support, vote, attend, plug, invest – you know who you all are – but I have immense gratitude to all at Radio Milwaukee (Mark, Jordan, Kat, Tarik, Marcus +more!), and would also like to thank Bruce and Bob at WUWM and Tom at WMSE as well.
There is still 12 hours left to get 6 free EK downloads on reverbnation – its incentive to buy the first single from young lady from Michigan named Hannh Rae Beale. The track is called “Ain’t Nobody.” She came to me with the song and asked me to contribute some rhythmic poetry. (Duh, WINNING). Jordan “DJ Madhatter” Lee provided the beginnings of the beat (WINNING). I played all instruments until the near the end when I couldn’t resist to bring ex-Greenscene, current De La Buena percussionist, Julio Pabon in to add the last dash of pepper (Nosotros tenemos la pimienta!) WINNING. And to polish up my work as an always-learning producer, I was lucky to get one of my earliest musical influences, Dave Cooley at Elysian Artists in L.A., to master the track. Finally – WIN.
It will be on iTunes tomorrow but you can buy it today on CD Baby: www.cdbaby.com/hannahraebeale
AND it will be on new music Wednesday tomorrow on 88 Nine Radio Milwaukee so feel free to listen and give that a quick thumbs up vote at www.radiomilwaukee.org if you like the song.
For me, tomorrow is Ash Wednesday and 40 days until a renaissance and a wonderful ham I will cook for the family. Until then, I vow to give more of what I have (its all been gifted to me anyway), and refrain from assuming I know the definitions of anything, including words like: faith, farmer, politick, independence, integrity, trust, professional, patience, perform, love, profit, success, talent, richness, blessing. Amen.

I return from a 4-day tour to find my son became a genius…The 10 minutes before this was lost because A) I was too technologically challenged to work my new Epic correctly and forgot to press record and B) I was too engulfed to notice my error. His behavior, techniques, and note “choices” were a series of miracles.
This changes everything.
Poignant track for this to happen…
